Catching the Wave of the Future

In the early 1990s, Mark foresaw a trend in information technology and recognized personal computers and Internet commerce as the wave of the future. He responded by opening his own computer selling and servicing business long before you could buy computers at a Best Buy or OfficeMax, and at a time when very few people were using the Internet.

While building a successful PC business, Mark continued to look for ways to earn part-time income while remaining his own boss. This led him to the direct selling industry, where the prospect of working from home and being in control of his own destiny were attractive benefits.

His first experience with direct selling was with a travel-based company from Canada. In one year, Mark built an organization of more than 20,000 people, was making more money than he ever had before, and was traveling a lot. Yet he was always thinking about how the company could be more efficient and effective. Friends and colleagues regularly told Mark he should open his own company and put his ideas to use..

 

From Disappointment to a Defining Moment

In 1998, a friend called Mark to talk about a new travel-based, direct selling company that was launching in Florida. Mark advised his friend that the travel concept wouldn’t work alone, and convinced him to add consumable products in addition to the travel service. He contracted with the new company to create sales aids and marketing tools, and developed their replicating website a time when not many people had these skills. When the tools were in place, Mark began recruiting efforts for the new company. Unfortunately, six months into the project, the investors pulled out and the company never launched.

It was at that defining moment when Mark decided to redirect his efforts into starting his own direct selling company. From 1998 to 1999, Mark contributed and raised the necessary capital through word-of-mouth, friends, and family. By April 1999, Mark and Jeanine McCool incorporated, and CyberWize was in business. The Sarasota, Florida, company is dedicated to promoting health and wellness through direct sales of high-quality nutritional products.

With his background in computers, Mark created CyberWize as one of the first direct selling companies to be established as an Internet-based operation from its inception, giving independent business owners the ability to effectively manage their entire businesses online. The company remained a technology leader with online custom reports and tools that help IBOs monitor and build their businesses.

As founder and CEO of CyberWize, Mark grew the company to a multi-million dollar business that has generated over $200 million in revenue with more than 2 million product orders that have led to 300,000+ Independent Business Owner and customer accounts.

 

Always a Focus on Family

When Mark and Jeanine founded CyberWize & LiveSmart 360 their current company, they committed to creating not only a profitable company, but also a caring one. As part of the Sarasota, Florida, community, they have contributed to local education foundations, supported the arts and sciences in local schools, and funded local animal shelters. As it expanded internationally over the years, CyberWize extended its charitable reach around the globe, contributing to the care of AIDS patients in the Caribbean and supporting orphanages in developing countries, partnering with World Visions. Mark & Jeanine McCool’s current company, LiveSmart 360 continues to keep their values as they did with CyberWize.

Mark’s focus on his family and improving the lives of others continues to be a guiding influence in his successful business career. Today, LiveSmart 360 is still run by Mark & Jeanine with their two sons Tyler and Trevor that play a important role on the corporate team. Tyler is deeply involved with the product developing and marketing while Trevor is aiding in Field Development. Mark cherishes the close personal relationships he has forged with many of the company’s Members and takes seriously the role LiveSmart 360 plays in providing opportunities for others to improve their lives.

When we first began to dream about a company that would be called LiveSmart 360, I had no idea that we would launch with more than 160,000 people in 93 countries. I wanted to be sure we could offer a full range of products for home and personal care, weight loss, and added energy throughout the day.
